Zimbabwe Cricket reaches out to PCB for player permissions.

Zim Afro T10 will start on 21 September at 1pm local time.

LAHORE : The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has contacted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to get No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for Pakistani players chosen to play in the upcoming Zim Afro Cricket League, according to sources.

Sources have confirmed that the PCB has given a positive response, signaling approval to Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) regarding the issuance of NOCs for Pakistani players. However, the final decision is still under review by the PCB, which has assured that the matter will be carefully evaluated.

Notably, players currently participating in the Champions One Day Cup will not receive NOCs for the Zim Afro League. Sources indicate that only those players not involved in the domestic competition stand a chance of getting the necessary clearance.

Seven Pakistani cricketers, including Shahnawaz Dahani, Asif Ali, Sharjeel Khan, Haider Ali, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan, and Salman Irshad, have been selected to feature in the Zim Afro League.

However, Haider Ali, Mohammad Asif, and Shahnawaz Dahani are committed to playing in the Champions One Day Cup and will, therefore, not be eligible for NOCs to join the Zimbabwe-based league.

The schedule for the second edition of the Zim Afro T10 tournament has been released, featuring six teams battling for the title. The tournament will run from 21 September to 29 September at the Harare Sports Club, with preparations already in progress.

Each day will host three games, with the first match starting at 3 pm local time (6:00 pm PST), followed by the second at 5:15 pm local time (8:45 pm IST), and the final match of the day at 7:30 pm local time (10:30 pm PST).

The tournament will open with a grand ceremony on 21 September at 1 pm local time, followed by the first match between Durban Wolves and Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers. Cape Town Samp Army will face Harare Bolts in the second game, and Bulawayo Brave Jaguars will take on NYS Lagos in the last match of the day.

The group stage will consist of 21 matches in total, with each team competing in several games over the course of nine days. The top two teams will face off in Qualifier 1, with the winner advancing directly to the final. Teams ranked third and fourth will play an Eliminator, with the winner moving on to Qualifier 2 to compete against the loser of Qualifier 1. The winner of Qualifier 2 will then progress to the final on 29 September.

Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, the founder and chairman of T Ten Global Sports, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “Season two of the Zim Afro T10 is set to be even bigger and better.”
