This competition is a rebranded edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Championship, which initially took place in the 2019-20 season. The most recent edition occurred earlier this year, from March 6 to April 7.
Limpopo claimed the title, overcoming Northern Cape in the final showdown. Left-arm fast bowler Daniel van der Merwe shone with figures of 4-18 in three overs, limiting Northern Cape to 132-9. He then scored 18 off 8 deliveries to guide his team to victory with eight balls remaining. Sizwe Masondo (51) and Ruan Haasbroek (35) were the key contributors during the chase.
Haasbroek also ended as the top run-scorer in last year’s tournament, amassing 289 runs. Don Radebe, another player from Limpopo, emerged as the leading wicket-taker, claiming 20 wickets.
The reigning champions will start the new season as well, facing KwaZulu-Natal Inland in Polokwane.
