Fakhar Zaman to miss the rest of the CPL games for the Champions One-Day Cup in Pakistan.

Zaman has played two games for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL, scoring 83 runs in two innings.

Pakistan cricketer Fakhar Zaman will leave the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 to join the Champions One-Day Cup, which is set to take place from September 12 to 29, 2024, at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Sources revealed that Zaman will return home to join the domestic tournament, which features five teams. He has played two matches for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL, amassing 83 runs in two innings.

In contrast, wicketkeeper Azam Khan is expected to continue his participation in the CPL, with sources indicating that he is unlikely to be part of any team in the Champions One-Day Cup.

Additionally, Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim will also remain available for the CPL, as both players have retired from ODIs.

Meanwhile, Saim Ayub, who scored his second Test fifty in the ongoing series against Bangladesh, had already missed the Caribbean tournament due to his commitment to Pakistan’s red-ball format.

It is worth noting that the upcoming domestic ODI tournament will feature five teams—Dolphins, Lions, Panthers, Stallions, and Wolves—with Misbah-ul-Haq mentoring the Wolves and Shoaib Malik mentoring the Stallions.
