Kamran Ghulam prepared for a ‘robust showing’ in his Test debut against England.

Kamran Ghulam conveyed his excitement after being chosen for the lineup in the second Test against England.

The player is set to make his Test debut today (Tuesday) at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be making my debut for Pakistan; I can’t articulate my happiness. It’s the aspiration of every cricketer to represent their national team,” Ghulam said in an interview shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The right-handed batsman mentioned that he had initially come for a fitness assessment and was optimistic about being selected this time.

He further revealed that his family was overjoyed by the news.

“I told my family, and they were very pleased to hear about my inclusion in the team,” he said.

Reflecting on his journey, Ghulam credited domestic cricket for his progress, noting that dedicating 14-15 years has brought him to this stage.

“Competing against various bowlers in different conditions in domestic cricket provides invaluable experience,” he stated.

Additionally, the 29-year-old shared that he viewed club matches as a challenge.

It is noteworthy that Ghulam is confident he will be included in the national team in the near future.

Meanwhile, when Azhar Mehmood informed him of his selection, Ghulam felt immense joy.

“I’ve waited a long time for this moment. Everyone dreams of a flawless debut, and I hope mine will be unforgettable,” he added.

Following his selection, Ghulam encouraged young cricketers to remain hopeful and stay dedicated to hard work.

Currently, Pakistan is facing England in the second Test in Multan.
